The mental health of children and adolescent is a current topic around the world, especially now, when the well-being of young people is burdened by many crises. With the pandemic, suicides among young people have been on the rise worldwide. According to researchers, climate change and the loss of biodiversity are also significant threats to public health.
The objective of the strategic funding programme is to develop the University’s multidisciplinary approach to education and to support the objective of increasing the number of international students.
The two-day visit included meetings on topical issues, preparations for the Annual Conference which is organised in Turku in the summer of 2024, and participation in the Europe Forum.
The Fulbright Finland Foundation specialises in academic and cultural exchange between Finland and North America by administering grant programmes and providing information and consultation for students, researchers, teachers and other professionals. Senior Advisors provide guidance and support for the Foundation in its activities.
This spring, the European Campus of City-Universities (EC2U) Allliance offered student teachers an opportunity to complete a 2-4-week classroom internship at a school in one of the EC2U cities. Five students from the University of Turku took this chance and one student from Friedrich-Schiller University of Jena in Germany arrived in Turku.
The Annual Conference and General Assembly of the Coimbra Group took place in Cologne, Germany on 31 May - 2 June 2023. During the event, the General Assembly elected Vice Rector Piia Björn as one of the members of the Coimbra Group’s Executive Board.
With the additional strategic funding of €3.7 million, the University of Turku realises it International Programme that is closely linked to the University’s Strategy.
