In the 2024 QS World University Rankings by Subject, the University of Turku was ranked among the world's best universities in four broad subject areas and 12 disciplines.
The QS Rankings by Subject 2024 featured more than 5000 universities, of which 1559 were ranked. The criteria used for the ranking were academic reputation, employer reputation, research citations per paper, H-index and international research network index. The weighting of the criteria varied by discipline.
In total, rankings were awarded in five broad subject areas and 55 disciplines. The highest ranked disciplines of the University of Turku were nursing science, which was ranked 36th, and education, which was ranked 70th. Both disciplines improved their ranking from last year.
