Applying for the Title of Docent at the Faculty of Humanities
The University may award the title of docent (dosentti) to a person who has comprehensive knowledge of their own discipline, capacity for independent research or artistic work demonstrated through publication or some other manner, and good teaching skills.
There are general guidelines for applying for the title of docent. According to the guidelines, the applicant should consult with the professor at the department / discipline in question before submitting the application.
The application periods of the Faculty of Humanities are 15 January – 15 February and 1–30 September.
Before filling out the application form, please familiarise yourself with the guidelines provided by the Faculty of Humanities for those applying for the title of docent.
The application is submitted via Unversity of Turku E-services. You can log in to the service with your Suomi.fi ID (e.g., bank ID or mobile certificate). The system allows you to fill in the form in sections. In this case, remember to save your application by clicking the Save draft button. You can find the saved form under the Service groups tab > Personnel > Docent application.
If you do not have a Suomi.fi ID, please send the application form and its attachments 1–5 by email to hum-hr@utu.fi
