How to Apply for Doctoral Training at the Faculty of Medicine

There are 6 Faculty of Medicine related University of Turku (UTUGS) doctoral programmes, through which a right to study for a doctoral degree is applied for. In addition, there is a doctoral pilot programme in connection with the national doctoral training pilot. Each of the doctoral programmes publish a call for applications including instructions for applying before the application period starts. The call for applications of the spring semester 2025 for the right to study for a doctoral degree at the Faculty of Medicine from 1 August 2025 onwards has ended.

The autumn term application round for a right to study for a doctoral degree and/or a doctoral researcher position with an employment contract at the Faculty of Medicine is on 29 August - 12 September 2025 at 4 pm (Europe/Helsinki). Study right begins on 1 January 2026.
