How to Apply for Doctoral Training at the Faculty of Medicine

There are 6 Faculty of Medicine related University of Turku (UTUGS) doctoral programmes, through which a right to study for a doctoral degree is applied for. Each of the doctoral programmes publish a call for applications including instructions for applying before the application period starts. You can find all necessary information about applying from the doctoral programme in question.

The call for applications of the autumn semester 2025 for the right to study for a doctoral degree and/or a doctoral researcher position with an employment contract at the Faculty of Medicine from 1 January 2026 onwards has ended.

The spring term application round for a right to study for a doctoral degree at the Faculty of Medicine is on 2 March - 16 March, 2026 at 4 pm (Europe/Helsinki). Study right begins on 1 August 2026.
