New open access publishing agreements for medicine
The library has signed two new open access publishing agreements for the University of Turku with publishers of medical journals. In addition, the agreement from last year with the Radiological Society of North America, allowing for publishing in the publisher's four journals, has been extended until the end of 2024. The agreements provide authors with the opportunity for free open access publishing.
The two-year agreement with Future Science Group (2024-2025) includes access to and open access publishing in 17 hybrid journals. In addition, the agreement includes the right to publish in 16 fully open access journals of the publisher. The right to publish covers all types of articles. Articles are published under a CC-BY-NC-ND license, but if required by the funder, it is also possible to publish under another license.
The one-year agreement with BMJ Publishing Group (2024) contains access to and open access publishing in a total of 34 transformative or hybrid journals. Depending on the journal, you can choose either CC-BY or CC-BY-NC license.
In both agreements, the right to publish is unlimited, so open access publishing is possible for all authors throughout the agreement period on the basis of the agreement.
Information on all open access publishing agreements at the University of Turku can be found in the guide on Discounts on Article Processing Charges.
