Professor Urged the ICT Developers to Be Responsible for the Consequences of Their Inventions

Gotternbarn, who spoke at the international Human Choice and Computers conference at the University of Turku, reminded that the need and skill to create new innovations are not enough. – Ethics must also extend to the consequences, said the professor.

The national Cardiovascular Risk in Young Finns Study shows that substantial TV watching predisposes for obesity and not the other way around. Among those who watch a substantial amount of TV, weight gain can even double compared with those who watch less TV.

Atlantic Salmon Acclimatise Well to Warmer Water Temperature

The offspring of salmon populations which have grown up in cold waters seem to be able to acclimatise to warm waters as well. An international research group discovered that salmon populations from northern Norway can live also in 20 °C water. The results were published in the esteemed Nature Communications scientific journal.
