Research at the Department of the European and World History

Our research approach is international and transnational by nature, and our strengths lie in a multi-perspective understanding of the processes of globalisation and of the interaction of Europe with the wider world. Furthermore, Finnish connections and activities abroad are also in the focus of our research.

Collaboration at the Department of European and World History

The Department of European and World History collaborates with an extensive network of partners – both within and outside the academic world. Our closest partners include the other departments in the School of History, Culture and Arts Studies and in the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Turku, and other faculties and Finnish universities. We are also working in close collaboration with multidisciplinary networks and organisations with whom we promote the study of international history and its significance to the society.
