Applying for the Title of Docent
The University may award the title of docent to a person who has comprehensive knowledge of their own discipline, capacity for conducting independent research or artistic work as evidenced by publications or otherwise, and good teaching skills.
The title of docent at the University of Turku is applied for with a written application addressed to the Rector of the University of Turku and delivered to the faculty in question.
The docent’s discipline must be clearly stated in the application and its attachments, as well as the merits which the applicant refers to so that it is possible to evaluate the applicant’s eligibility based on the application.
The faculties have provided their own specific instructions on the application and its attachments.
