Guest Lecture – Péter Mezei: Digital Exhaustion and Beyond

Dr. Péter Mezei, Associate Professor, University of Szeged and Adjunct Professor of University of Turku, held a guest lecture 15 November 2017 at the Faculty of Law commemorating his 20th teaching visit to the University of Turku. Nearly 30 colleagues and students gathered to listen the lecture.

 

Accelerator Programme Springboard Fostered New Business Ideas

The Central Baltic Springboard joint project with Riga, Tallinn and Turku came to an end in October 2017. The Finnish partners were the University of Turku and Turku Science Park Ltd. In the last two years, Springboard enabled cross-border mentoring, meetings, and exchanging ideas between dozens of start-ups and teams. The goal of this novel project was to accelerate the growth of the participating start-ups and its results exceeded the goal even better than expected.

Technology Education at University of Turku Proven to Develop Innovation Skills

A study conducted on the graduate engineering double degree programme of the University of Turku and Fudan University shows that the activating teaching methods used in the programme develop students' innovation skills. An article based on the study called University Education as a Pathway to Innovation has been published in the international Journal of European Higher Education Area.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Discussed Russian Foreign Policy

Minister of Foreign Affairs Linas Linkevičius from Lithuenia gave a lecture at the University of Turku on Tuesday, 24 October, on the Baltic Sea security policy. Linkevičius, who was invited to talk by the Centre for Parliamentary Studies, focused both on Russia's conflict-causing role and on international collaboration in the prevention of these conflicts.
