The two-day visit included meetings on topical issues, preparations for the Annual Conference which is organised in Turku in the summer of 2024, and participation in the Europe Forum.
Europe Forum will be organised for the sixth time in Turku, Turku, from 30 August to 1 September 2023. The event will take place in halls at both Linnankatu 56 and 60 and online. On Friday 1 September, a Speakers' Corner will be set up at Turku Market Square. The University of Turku is one of the organisers of the European Forum.
Is Europe a divided continent or a united union? The Europe Forum organised in Turku for the sixth time is focused around this question. The Forum changed its dates to August–September and will also relocate to new venues: A Speakers’ Corner hosted by Director of the Centre for Parliamentary Studies Markku Jokisipilä will be located at Turku market square, other event venues include the Sigyn hall on Linnankatu street as well as the premises of the Turku Conservatory and Arts Academy.
Does Finland need its own drug development and manufacturing or will Europe take care of us even in the event of a crisis? Is the security of medicine supply guaranteed? These and other topics will be discussed in the InFLAMES panel discussion at the science day of the Turku Europe Forum on 24 August. The panel is organised at the Marina Palace at 11.30am-12.15pm. The discussion will be interpreted into English.
Finland's role in the development Europe is at the forefront in the panel discussions organised by the University of Turku and its partners in the Turku Europe Forum. The first day of the Forum on Wednesday, 24 August, focuses on science, and the panellists address numerous questions, such as whether Finland needs its own drug development, what kind of change are Europeans facing in energy production and consumption, where are the borders of Europe, and what is the state of the Archipelago Sea.
The University of Turku organised the Future with Africa panel discussion at the Europe Forum Turku that covered the collaboration between Europe and Africa from the perspective of universities and research.
