The question of sleep apnea as the risk factor for COVID-19 arose in a study conducted by the Turku University Hospital and the University of Turku on patients of the first wave of the pandemic. This is the first COVID-19-related study where sleep apnea as suspected risk factor emerges as the main finding.
The borrowing of materials for study, teaching and research from the Turku University Library is enabled by an exceptional arrangement during the summer. The collection point for reserved material is open in the Educarium Library at the Turku Campus and you can work at home with the help of E-resources.
The University’s safety measures are based on hygiene, safe distances, and restricting the number of participants and tracing.
From the 1st of June, limited library services will be opened to students and staff of the University of Turku on a prior reservation basis. Educarium's collection point for reserved material will also serve the university community during the summer.

Global Consortium of Scientists Investigates Connection between Loss of Smell and Taste and COVID-19 with a Survey
Scientists from the Universities of Helsinki and Turku, Finland are part of the global consortium investigating the connection between the chemical senses and COVID-19. People with respiratory illnesses (including COVID-19) are urged to participate in survey on smell loss.
