Doctoral Candidate in Materials Engineering Mahdi Moghaddam won the Three Minute Thesis competition of the University of Turku. Moghaddam will represent the University of Turku in the Coimbra Group’s international 3MT competition of European universities and the international 3MT competition of the SANORD network.

University’s new Associate Professor of Battery Technology Pekka Peljo has received the European Research Council’s ERC Starting Grant. The five-year grant will enable top-level research in materials engineering.
The new Associate Professor of Materials Engineering Pekka Peljo focuses in his research and teaching on battery technology, including the study of cost-effective and environmentally friendly materials that can be utilised in energy storage.
