Saara Koskela wins 3MT competition – represents University of Turku in Coimbra Group’s international competition

Doctoral Researcher Saara Koskela from the Institute of Biomedicine, InFLAMES Research Flagship and Turku Doctoral Programme of Molecular Medicine won the Three Minute Thesis competition of the University of Turku. Koskela will represent the University of Turku in the international 3MT competition organised by the Coimbra Group for European universities. 

Mahdi Moghaddam Won the 3MT Competition – Represents the University in International Competition

Doctoral Candidate in Materials Engineering Mahdi Moghaddam won the Three Minute Thesis competition of the University of Turku. Moghaddam will represent the University of Turku in the Coimbra Group’s international 3MT competition of European universities and the international 3MT competition of the SANORD network.

Felix Vaura Won the 3MT Competition – Represents the University in International Finals

University of Turku and Åbo Akademi University Organise Joint Postgraduate Course on Sustainable Development

Sustainable development is one of the most central themes in the strategies of the University of Turku and Åbo Akademi University. As an aspect of the policy programmes of their strategies, the universities strengthen the role of sustainable development in their course selection. For the first time this spring, the universities in Turku will offer a course on sustainable development for doctoral students, ”Multidisciplinary approaches to sustainable development”.

University of Turku Employs New Doctoral Candidates

There are nearly fifty open vacancies for fixed-term doctoral candidate positions at the University of Turku from 1 January 2020 onwards. The call for applications is open 2–20 September 2019. This is already the seventh year that the University of Turku Graduate School (UTUGS) opens a call for paid doctoral candidate positions. This time, the programmes include the new doctoral programme of the INVEST project that is part of the flagship programme of the Academy of Finland.
