On October 10, the University of Turku will host the first event of the Built4People network, inviting researchers, companies, and authorities to discuss the future of housing and urban space. This event will also launch a new call for applications for the Turku Urban Research Program.
Core groups have been selected for the five multidisciplinary themes of the Strategy of the University of Turku. The core groups of the multidisciplinary themes are responsible for strengthening multidisciplinary research and education as well as their impact.
Funding was applied for three new profiling areas, which explore the digitisation of cultural heritage, northern food, and the digital and green transition in the water sector.
The funding supports cross-disciplinary research in the University’s three profiling areas that focus on immune mediated diseases, the evolution of human diversity, and the design of sustainable materials.
The six strategic research and education profiles of the University of Turku together with the Steering Group for Sustainable Development are hosting a new "Thematics Talk Together - Sustainability" -seminar series. The series addresses topical and interesting questions related to sustainability and sustainable development.
TalkTogether -seminar series addresses topical and interesting themes from the different points of view of the six strategic research and education profiles of the University of Turku. The theme of the seminar series for the academic year 2022–2023 will be Sustainability.
The GeoICT4e project coordinated by the University of Turku has received a HEI ICI funding of nearly €2 million from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland for the development of socially innovative geospatial education at Tanzanian higher education institutions.
The multidisciplinary themes bring together and enable collaboration between researchers and experts in different disciplines. Multidisciplinary approaches strengthen our ability to find solutions to the complex problems of our time. In the multidisciplinary themes, we collaborate with our important higher education partners: Åbo Akademi University and the universities of applied sciences in Turku.
