The mentoring programme for the academic year 2024–2025 culminated in the closing event on 4 June 2025. The event celebrated all the lessons learned and the new relationships formed through the mentoring programme this spring. 

The University of Turku hosted its first alumni event in Brussels on 9 December 2024, marking a significant milestone in the University's efforts to foster international collaboration and alumni engagement. The event focused on the importance of research and education in building a competitive and sustainable Europe.

Volunteer mentors and students gathered together on 12 June at the University's Turku School of Economics to celebrate the successful end of the mentoring programme for the past academic year. This was the 22nd year of the University's long-running mentoring programme. In the last two years, the programme has been organised in both Finnish and English. 

In an innovative exploration of personal futures, students from the University of Turku recently participated in the Future Me alumni workshop, oraganised at the Entrepreneurial Hub Konttori. Hosted by the University of Turku alumni and futurist Anna Ryzhova, the event offered attendees a unique opportunity to apply principles of futures studies and imagine their future career paths. 

The Alum of the Year recognition was awarded to Deputy Director Kristi Raik at the Anniversary Celebration of the University of Turku on 28 February 2024.

Students and alumni discussed working life and the transition to it at a morning coffee organised by the University of Turku Alumni Relations on Fri May 19. The alumni encouraged students to trust themselves and move boldly towards their own goals in working life.
