University of Turku Participates in Smart Health for Europe Event on October 7

The University of Turku, in collaboration with Novartis Finland Oy, Business Finland, the University of Eastern Finland, and the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra, organises a Smart Health for Europe seminar at Musiikkitalo on October 7, 2019. The seminar explores future health ecosystems and networks with Smart Health stakeholders from start-ups to healthcare decision makers, investors and more. The Finnish EU Presidency in 2019 provides a great opportunity to discuss the combination of legislation, health sector growth, research and development, and start-ups. 

Faleh Abushahba Wins Nordic Hatton Award

Doctoral Candidate Faleh Abushahba from the Finnish Doctoral Programme in Oral Sciences (FINDOS-Turku) won the NOF Nordic Hatton Award competition. The competition was organised in Madrid 19–20 September as a part of the CED-IADR/NOF conference on oral sciences.

University Participates in Zero Emissions Day

The University of Turku participates in the Zero Emissions Day campaign organised by the Climate Leadership Coalition. The objective of the campaign is to give the Earth a fossil fuel free day and to address harmful emissions. Different aspects of sustainable development have also been highly prominent in the University’s strategic planning process. Already before the beginning of the new strategy period, the University’s carbon footprint is being determined and education on sustainable development advanced.

Digital Futures Seminar 10 October: How digitalisation is changing science and society?

Digitalisation is transforming our society by creating new possibilities and disrupting existing social structures. Digital Futures, one of the profiling areas of the University of Turku, is organising a multidisciplinary seminar to discuss the impact of digitalisation on research, scientific methods, and societal change on 10 October 2019. The theme of the seminar is “How digitalisation is changing science and society?" and it is open for all interested, welcome!
