How do scientists tackle a surprising problem they face? You can witness this in the Science Battle competition, where researchers from the Universities of Pavia, Poitiers and Turku compete against each other. Three teams try to solve questions submitted by the public. The competition can be followed online or on site on university campuses.

There is an urgent worldwide demand to update skills on online pedagogics among teachers from elementary schools to universities. The Global Educational Services of the University of Turku is providing extensive online courses on online pedagogy and also courses designed for higher education teachers in particular.

The EC2U Forum hosted by the University of Turku focuses on topics including social sustainability, collaboration of universities and cities, and making students even more committed to their studies.
The “Research & Innovation For Cities & Citizens – RI4C2” project, submitted by the EC2U Alliance, has been awarded 2 million euro funding in the Horizon 2020 "Science with & for Society" SwafS call for European Universities. This grant will boost the Alliance's actions in Research and Innovation fields.

The five-minute video compilation on the centenary year celebrations of the University of Turku depicts an exceptional year. The coronavirus was a major factor in shaping the centenary year plans. The events that could be organised showed a strong presence of joy, communality, curiosity for new information, and a great change.
The coronavirus pandemic has moved education online, but has not stopped the global interest towards KiVa Antibullying Program. A new extension agreement has just been made in New Zealand and the use of this antibullying program is currently negotiated in the Middle East and South East Asia as well.
