Biografia
My background is in sociology and I have a PhD degree from Tampere University. I am currently working as a postdoctoral researcher in the Y-GANG -project, funded by the Academy of Finland.
My research has mainly dealt with subcultural and cultural criminological issues related to youth and control in public space. Topics that I have studied include youth violence, gangs, gender performativity, graffiti and street art subcultures. I am skilled in qualitative research methods, especially in urban ethnography.
I have previously worked at Finnish Youth Research Society. I am a longstanding coordinating editor of YOUNG Nordic Journal of Youth Research.
