CCR model is based on collaboration and multidisciplinarity

Collaboration

We all are collaborating in the university in different ways but this is what it means concretely in our case: internally, we group together different researchers in different disciplines to work together with us in research projects. In small scale projects it can mean a person coming outside CCR to contribute part-time to the project. In large-scale projects it can mean 10 researchers working with the general topic, all from individual backgrounds. Researchers can be from the School of Economics or other faculties as well. These types of research projects we usually also coordinate but sometimes the lead can also be outside CCR.

Looking this from the other perspective, externally, we utilize our personal contacts, networks and partnerships in sensing research opportunities we and our colleagues in the university could grab. We are specialized in company relations and work systematically with over 40 companies, business associations and platforms each year. Whether it is one company in need or consortium of actors planning to set up a new research program, we are there to support, plan, resource, apply and ultimately do parts of the research activities in collaboration with both university researchers and the external partners.

And why? To maximise university research opportunities and impact, to provide much needed external financing and perhaps mostly because the research topics and societal or business challenges require multidisciplinary approach for full impact.
