Seili virus-cell interactions meeting will be held on August 18.-20.2025
We will have science during the days and sauna and other activities in the evenings. The program will be put together by the abstracts send by the participants. All virological topics are welcome including basic virology, virus-cell interactions, one health, diagnostic and clinical virology.
Registration by June 9th 2025. We have space for only 41 participants, so to guarantee your participation please register in time (first come first served). The fees for participation will be 295€ for pre PhD and 345€ for post PhD scientists. Fees include participation, accommodation, all meals and coffee, the Seili-dinner, social events (sauna etc.) and transportation from Turku to Seili and back.
Be prepared to give the following information at registration:
- your name, organization, email and mobile phone number
- home address (for billing purposes)
- accommodation preference and whom to share your room with
- if you will participate in boat and bus transportation from and back to Turku (information below)
- if you wish to attend social activities after lectures
Registration has closed.
Accommodation: In Seili we have rooms for two or three persons. At registration, you should indicate your wishes for the room types, as well as with whom you want to share your room.
Turku-Seili-Turku transport, there will be two options:
On Monday 18th August you may drive by your own car to the Nauvo guest harbor (Nauvon Ranta 4, 21660 Nauvo) and take m/s Östern ferry to Seili island (Nauvo 12:10 - Seili 12:40). https://www.visitseili.fi/fi/yhteysliikenne/
Alternatively on Monday you may hop on m/s Norrskär at Turku, the ferry leaves from river Aura (Läntinen Rantakatu 37, 20100 Turku) and goes directly to Seili (Turku 9:30 - Seili 11:15). https://vitharun.fi/fi/aikataulut/turku-seili-nauvo/
On Wednesday 20th August we all leave Seili by m/s Östern at 10:50 and arrive to Nauvo at 11:20. From Nauvo we have organized a bus transportation to Turku (arrival approximately 13:15) for those that do not have own car.
On both travel dates, you are yourself responsible to organize the transport between your home and Turku. Only the above presented transportation options are included in the registration fee.
Abstract submission by 12:00 noon June 9th 2025. We will try to give everyone who submits an abstract the opportunity to present their data. Abstracts can be designed as you wish, as long as they fit on one A4-page. Please include the important information such as the title, authors, affiliations, text. Abstracts should be saved preferably as word or pdf-files. There will be no poster session, only talks. Send abstracts to heli.harvala@utu.fi.
We will inform speakers by June 13th 2025. We will publish the program on this page by June 20th 2025.
