Tervetuloa verkostoitumistilaisuuteen: Biodiversity Sciences – halting the global decline of biodiversity requires multidisciplinary approaches
For several years, the global decline of biodiversity has been ranked among the most severe threats humanity will face by the World Economic Forum's Global Risk Report. For example, 50% of the global economy is threatened by the decline of biodiversity.
The University of Turku multidisciplinary theme Biodiversity and Sustainability warmly welcomes you to join an academic networking event dedicated to Biodiversity Sciences.
The aim of the event is to bring together researchers representing different UTU faculties and disciplines and other interested audience members to explore multidisciplinary perspectives and research opportunities on halting the global decline of biodiversity. The University of Turku is currently leading several large and multidisciplinary research teams and consortia on this theme.
The program of the event includes four inspiring presentations (representing three faculties) and joint discussions / networking. Overall, the event aims to spark further opportunities for multidisciplinary research, teaching, and interaction in this area.

Biodiversity and sustainability is one of the five multidisciplinary themes of the University of Turku. Our research on e.g. the decline of biodiversity globally and in Finland, climate change, food systems, circular economy and bioenergy as well as the education based on this research create conditions for an ecologically, socially, culturally and economically sustainable future and innovations.
